Project Description:
Another Autumn is upon us, which means another version of Autumn and The Nature Collective. After showcasing Autumn last year with my Cornelia Street build, I really wanted to represent Autumn this season in a rural setting with more New England fall vibes. I also knew that I wanted to include Coffee House TNC, which saw its origin after The Nature Collective’s SL20B build, and the two ideas seemed to fit together perfectly. Who doesn’t like to sip warm seasonal flavored coffee and beverages on a crisp New England Autumn day? And so The Nature Collective at Providence Glen was born.
This new build also saw The Nature Collective move to a new location, from the mainland continent of Corsica to the mainland continent of Satori. It is now situated on the outskirts of Moorcroft’s Little Bear Park and nestled in on the other side by my bee and pollinator reserve project, What the Buzz. Because of its location by Little Bear Park and the rest of the Moorcroft area, the new build needed to include a horse trail, which now runs through the area from North to South.
On the west side of the build is the Linden road entrance with a small rural bus stop. Visitors can enter The Nature Collective here and walk down a small path through a tree tunnel and come out on the horse trail. From here they can go left to What the Buzz, or right to Little Bear Park. Taking the path left with small turn to the right will take them to Coffee House TNC – through a wooden welcome arch and over a wooden foot bridge that spans across the small stream.
After crossing the stream, visitors can go left to the outdoor movie area, where Nature Collective members can attend the Movies under the Star series. In addition to the outdoor seating and movie screen, moviegoers can stuff themselves silly with all of the wonderful Autumn treats and beverages that include hot apple cider, cake, cheese and crackers and more!
Heading back the other way will lead people to the TNC event board. Here, visitors can find info on The Nature Collective’s group events. There is also a link to the TNC website which houses more information on the group events and more! Heading up the wooden steps will take people right to Coffee House TNC.
Once on the outside deck, visitors are greeted by the warm spiced smells of the season. The inside of the coffee house can comfortably fit 10-12 people and there are games and music in addition to a self-serve espresso machine (that lazy barista is ALWAYS on break!). The long wall of the coffee house showcases TNC member art that is also for sale.
Back outside on the side deck, there is an outdoor fireplace with more outdoor seasonal decor and lots of candles and blankets. There are even a couple of chairs that overlook the stream at the front of the deck! Down a couple more steps is the game deck where visitors can play checkers and Hangman while overlooking the stream and the rest of the Autumn sights and sounds!
