Project Name: What the Buzz
Project Type: Public Space, Educational
Project Details: Private estate land
Project Description:
This was the next version of What the Buzz, my bee and pollinator reserve project. This version was bigger and I worked hard to make it a more interactive experience for people to explore and learn about what they could do to help save the bees and other pollinators. This version was carefully created with different areas in mind. There was the Happy Hive Research Base which also served as the landing point for the project – from there, visitors then followed a circular road which took them to the farmers market, beehive area and pollinator garden. Each of these areas were parts of the bigger picture and each area served as an example of what people could do in their day-to-day lives to help save the bees – from sustainable gardening practices, to backyard beekeeping to planting their own pollinator gardens with native plants. Off of the road, down some steps, there was an outdoor stage with seating and a wooden dance floor.
The 2nd entrance of this version of What the Buzz led out into the City Township and right to the very first incarnation of The Nature Collective.
