Project Description:
This was the second version of The Nature Collective and began my love affair with Second Life’s Mainland. It was located on a parcel on the Muslin sim on the continent of Heterocera. If you’re not familiar with The Nature Collective, you can read more about it here. To date this build remains one of my favorites. The parcel had roadside access to Route 3 and consisted of the building in the photo as well as an outdoor recreational area for people to explore.
The building itself, a Trompe Loeil build, had 2 educational exhibits located on either side of the building. One exhibit was all about native planting and how it’s good for the environment and wildlife and the other exhibit was all about the Wood Wide Web and how trees communicate with each other via their root system – with help from fungi.
