This was my first time being involved with the Second Life Birthday celebrations. The Nature Collective was selected to be an exhibitor and I was then tasked with creating an exhibit that represented The Nature Collective. Due to health issues at the time, the build was started by my partner, Garrett Vintner and friend, Bryce Sun. When I was able to be online, I took their foundation and built the final presentation.
Although the theme for that years celebration was Steampunk, I decided to go a more traditional route for the exhibit and did a sort of woodland wonder nature scene. Visitors entered the exhibit and could walk a path to the left of the build where there were oversized books and all kinds of wildlife around them. The main path was clothed in flowers and greenery – there was a pond to the right with dragonflies that flitted around the vegetation. Around the door to the building, which was a forest cottage build by Fantavatar & Moonstruck, there were animals peeking in. Inside the cottage was info on The Nature Collective as well as a map and magnifying glass, some open suitcases and other items meant to portray someone being so excited to get out and explore in nature that they just took off, leaving the door open and fairy dust in their wake.
