The Coffee Houses of Heterocera in Second Life, SecondLife.com feature location October 2022
Project Description:
Coffee and cats – two of my favorite things inspired this project. The first version of Toe Beans was situated on the Mainland continent of Heterocera, across the road from The Nature Collective, on Route 3. It wasn’t an overly ambitious build – there was the cafe and then a small side courtyard area with a fire pit, seating and an abandoned piano on a little stage that the cats loved hanging out on. This outdoor stage area was actually featured on the SecondLife.com website for their 2022 Fall social media campaign.
The inside of the cat café featured a front area to order coffee and pastries. This area also housed the adoption area where people could donate money to the cat café & rescue and adopt cats to take home. There was also a bulletin board where people could share RL photos of their cats.
Off to the side, inside the café, was an area to sit and relax and enjoy your coffee or play with the cats that lived at the café. This sitting area had a wall of windows which overlooked the outdoor courtyard area, and Chonk, the cafe’s chief resident!
