Project Details: Private estate land – Skybox setting

Project Description:
This was technically the second version of my bee/pollinator project What the Buzz. What the Buzz started as a way for me to bring something that I am passionate about in my first life (bees and pollinators and conservation efforts to save them) to Second Life. This project was a combination of trying to educate visitors on the plight of our little pollinator friends while also creating a serene spot for people to explore and hang out.
The project was created entirely in the sky and had a landing point which consisted of a barn with educational slides and materials on the walls as well as contact and social media information for What the Buzz. Visitors then walked a path which opened up in to a field of flowers and beehives. There was a random bee fact generator with scripting created by Knox Karsin. There was also a little cabin where people could hang out and relax and learn more about the bees.
From the meadow area, people could take a short flight of stairs up and find themselves by the pond. The pond sported lots of nature vegetation and wildlife as well as more areas for people to chill out and relax. Another short set of stairs up from this area brought people to the Farmers Market area. The Farmer’s Market area offered fresh fruits and vegetables as well as locally sourced honey and honey and beeswax products. There was also a small stage and dance floor area where there was occasional live music.
