Sonder is a project that is near and dear to my heart so when it came time to make the Autumn magic happen, I was 100% up to the task! Sonder co-creator and co-builder and all around awesome gal pal, Teagan Lefevre and I set to work, but did a gradual change over with just some of the trees showing their autumn foliage first with more to follow at a later date. We felt this would bring the most realistic representation of Autumn in Second Life.
The next thing we changed was the village square. We added one of our favorite Konoha trees in the middle for our focus and built out around it with the addition of a hot cider stand, roasted chestnuts vender, mulled wine stand with table and chair seating and an Autumn farmers market. A photo of the farmers market area is shown above for the featured photo.
The other big change was the lake area, which is shown above. We revised that whole area and added a covered bridge going as our focal point to what was then named Sonder Hollow, and added a pumpkin patch where people can actually pick pumpkins to take home with them. We also added an opened-ended barn that we converted into a hangout space with fireplace, plenty of comfy seating and lots of Autumn colors and candles. (I say we, but Teagan is the interior decorator between the two of us!)
After these two big renovation areas, we just went through the rest of Sonder and added Autumn flowers and groundcover, wreaths to the light posts, etc. I do think this is my favorite version of Sonder so far, but I might be a bit biased because Autumn is my favorite season. Stay tuned though. Winter is just around the corner in Second Life and Teagan and I already have big plans!
